St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica

St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica is one of the oldest churches in Toronto’s downtown core, representing a visible presence of the Catholic faith in the city for over 165 years. Located at 65 Bond Street and designed in the Gothic Revival style, construction of St. Michael’s Cathedral began in 1845; the tower and spire were completed in 1867 to commemorate the birth of Canada as a sovereign nation. The past five years have seen a massive restoration project, and it was re-opened in September 2016.
