Sundre is a town in central Alberta with a population of 2,700. It is located in Mountain View County, 100 km (62 mi) northwest from Calgary, along the Cowboy Trail in the Canadian Rockies foothills. Sundre takes its name from a town in Norway, the original home of Nels T. Hagen, the town's first postmaster.

We didn't see too much of the actual town but we did take in the Sundre & District Pioneer Village Museum, and the "Chester Mjolsness World of Wildlife" exhibit of 150 mounted animals from around the world.
