This statue was presented to Québec by the eastern Chinese Province of Shandong. It was given as a token of the lasting friendship between Québec and Shandong, the Chinese province where Confucius was born.
A monument to the teaching brothers, by Jules Lasalle. Located in the City Hall Gardens. This is a work paying tribute to the eleven congregations of teaching brothers that have been active in Québec since the end of the 17th century.
The French commander, Marquis de Montcalm was mortally wounded on this spot during the Battle of the Plains of Abraham.
