Train Station & Farmer's Market

Gare du Palais ("Palace Station") is the Via Rail train and bus station in Québec City. Its name comes from its proximity to the Palace of the Intendant of New France. Built in 1915 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the two-storey châteauesque station is similar in design to the Château Frontenac hotel. It was designated a Heritage Railway Station in 1992.

As we approached the station we couldn't miss the art installation consisting of chairs. The fountain outside the station was equally interesting. After checking out the train station we paid a visit to the Marche du Vieux-Port de Québec (Farmer's Market) located just a couple of minutes away. There was ample maple fudge and homemade treats, dried berries, chocolate, cheese, syrups... you name it.
