Trochu

Trochu is a small prairie town - population about 1,060 - located in central Alberta. Trochu is named after Armand Trochu the settler who, in 1903, founded the St. Anne Ranch Trading Company on the present site of the town. Like many smaller prairie towns, the main industry here is agriculture, with some revenue from the oil and gas industry.

We stopped in Trochu for lunch one day on our way back from touring the hamlet of Rowley. While in Trochu I captured a couple of shots of the town and of the detailed murals painted on main street's buildings.
