Outside the Hofburg Palace - The Hofburg Palace is the former imperial palace in the centre of Vienna. Built in the 13th century, the palace has housed some of the most powerful people in European and Austrian history, including monarchs of the Habsburg dynasty. It was the principal imperial winter residence, as Schönbrunn Palace was their summer residence.

"Mozart" Was Everywhere! - During our frequent travels in central Vienna, we would inevitably encounter the "Fake Mozarts": men dressed in period costume doing their best to sell hapless tourists tickets for the latest classical music concerts.
In the Burggarten - The Burggarten is a beautiful park, constructed in 1819, situated in the first district of Vienna close to the Hofburg and the Opera house. Here you will find statues of Mozart, Goethe and Emperor Franz Joseph, among many others.

The Plague Column - The Plague Column is a Holy Trinity column located on the Graben, a street in the inner city of Vienna. In 1679, Vienna was visited by one of the last big plague epidemics. Fleeing the city, the Habsburg emperor Leopold I vowed to erect a mercy column if the epidemic would end.
Stephansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral) - Constructed in 1147, this is the most important religious building in Vienna. St. Stephen's Cathedral has borne witness to many important events in Habsburg and Austrian history and has, with its multi-coloured tile roof, become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.
